Position Overview

OpGen is looking for an exceptional Lead Generation Manager with experience in using modern, state of the art marketing tools including digital campaigns, CRM systems to optimize and drive sales and sales funnel conversion. The Lead Generation Manager is responsible for generating new and pre-qualified leads for sales through various outreach activities. The Lead Generation Manager will work closely with both the sales and marketing teams to develop a lead generation capability that identifies, engages, nurtures, and qualifies leads to deliver measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, an excellent communicator, enjoys building relationships by phone, via digital and social media marketing and email, and excels in a fast-paced environment to support the sales team in reaching their goals. Call points may include laboratory leadership, clinicians, infectious disease pharmacists and other individuals responsible for the diagnostic and clinical use of OpGen’s products and services. The successful candidate must be able to ensure a smooth sales process from digital as well as traditional outreach campaigns to lead generation to CRM reporting. The Lead Generation Manager position reports to the Head of Global Marketing at OpGen. This position is open to remote work for the right candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organize and execute outreach campaigns (phone, digital, email) for different market segments and tradeshow conferences
  • Segment audiences and develop customized iterative processes for different target audiences and customers
  • Research accounts to identify key players and generate new qualified leads to maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Initiate outbound calls to potential clients, as primary responsibility for early-stage prospecting activity to increase the overall sales funnel to meet sales goals and drive growth
  • Maintain and curate the sales CRM to ensure accurate information and reporting capabilities
  • Establish and monitor goals and KPIs for lead generation
  • Track and report the sales performance metrics (such as sales cycle) on a monthly basis to ensure target goals are met by the sales team
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company policy and within the guidelines of OpGen’s Quality System

Qualifications: Education and Experience: 

  • BS or equivalent scientific degree in microbiology, molecular, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of one year of sales or sales related experience, lead generation and management of the sales funnel
  • Working knowledge of CRM software use and maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills, listening skills, presentation skills, and customer service skills
  • Experience with clients in clinical microbiology, infection prevention, public health laboratories, or a related field is a plus
  • Alternative experience in related sales discipline will be considered, i.e. B2B sales, pharmaceutical sales, distribution sales, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to call, connect and interact with potential clients; make and manage a multitude of outbound calls per day

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and clearly articulate OpGen’s value proposition

  • Self-starter with ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and a “digital native” a plus

Employment Type:

  • Full-time. Eligible for additional compensation based on Variable Compensation Plan.
